Volkswagen will have a new logo!
No, this is not a rumour and even less a hoax, the German manufacturer will present next year a brand new logo. That being said, do not expect something totally different from the current logo. It is very likely that Volkswagen retains much the same logotype, while improving it to stick to its new communication strategy. That it reassures you, the famous letters "V" and "W" should always be visible.
Volkswagen marketing director Jochen Sengpiehl has explicitly announced the redesign of the brand logo. This new identity is a key element of the brand's strategy, which will massively market clean and electric cars. Since 1939, the Volkswagen logo has changed very little. It was in 1967 that it took the color blue and it is in 2000 and in 2012 that it gained considerably in relief.
2019 will be a very important year for Volkswagen. That year, the German manufacturer will launch the new Golf 8 and its 100% electric car. Volkswagen is trying to reclaim its customers after the scandal of Dieselgate. The look of the manufacturer is now oriented towards the future, which has just named a new boss at the head of his car empire.
