Today, this new Audi A6 Avant is unveiled with a brand new look, even if the affiliation with his big sister is still undeniable. Both share indeed the same face, very close to the luxurious A8. Very logically, it is therefore on the side of the stern that it will be necessary to look to make the difference between the two versions, with its long flag and its more inclined rear window.

In March, Audi unveiled the new generation of its A6 saloon car. Less than two months later, it is now the turn of the version Before to reveal itself to the general public, very fond of this declination. And for good reason, the family break represents nearly 70% of sales in the A6 range, hence the importance of a quick presentation.

Audi A6 Avant Technology

The interior, strongly inspired by the latest Audi A7 and A8, is revolutionizing the technology. The set is getting a makeover thanks to the arrival of three screens including a 100% digital handset, which modernizes an interior completely redesigned and more refined.

In terms of driving aids, here again, Audi has made a clear progress, providing its break with a host of assistance systems. Among them, note the adaptive cruise assist associated with traffic jam assist, which allows to let the car brake or accelerate alone in traffic jams, up to 250 km / h.

Audi A6 Avant Engines

At its launch, the new Audi A6 Avant will be offered with a range of only four engines. The 2.0-liter TDI, which goes from 190 to 204 horsepower here embodies the entry-level, followed by the V6 TDI, available with 231 and 286 horsepower. In essence, the choice is more limited, with only a V6 3.0-liter TFSI 340 horsepower, which should subsequently be supported by a V8 on S6 and RS 6 versions. While all V6s come standard with Quattro all-wheel drive, only TDIs are associated with the eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The V6 TFSI and the 2.0-liter TDI are indeed offered with a robotized S Tronic dual clutch and seven reports.

This new Audi A6 Avant also uses light hybridization, which reduces fuel consumption by around 0.7 litres / 100 km. The V6 engines are associated with a 48-volt battery, while the 2.0-liter TDI is coupled to a 12-volt system.

The Audi A6 will be available to order this summer, for deliveries expected in the course of September. The prices have not yet been announced, and we should probably know more in the coming months.
